I can smell it in the air

It's a leisurely Sunday & my to-do list consists of STUDYING for my BTT tomorrow! Keeping my notes/books and cleaning up my room. Oh yeah, and finish up watching my J-drama, Pride on tudou.com. Have I told you how much I love chinese piracy! Woohoo! The great Chinese reunited me with my Takashi Sorimachi! Heheh, I finished with the uber-old-school Beach Boys and GTO during the study break. The only grouse which I have is that the network is jammed up so bad on weekends! I swear it must be the gazillion Chinese people online NOW.

Phew, Year 2 term 2 is finally over and I'm only ONE summer away from being a (shudder) Year 3, and in Surrey, UK no less. Exciting prospects, but i need to survive my 13 weeks internship first and scrape together a decent amount of cash so that I don't leave here with a sense of guilt.

Anyhow, last night was rather eventful, although the evening started off with me being rather lethargic and indifferent. I was still somewhat groggy the entire of saturday and i spent the latter part of it waiting foreverrrr for Pride episode 10 to load, but it didnt. Sigh. On the bus ride to HollandV, I met this sweet & gentile old lady named Florence. She started talking to me when she sat down next to me. She's 84 and it was her birthday yesterday! She told me she lived through world war two and how they managed to escape the Japanese soldiers when they came looking for them; how they survived illnesses without medicine; how the entire family miraculously survived the war. For example, her uncle lived in Shanghai during the war and he just had a gut feeling to leave the building he was in, to go across the river to another. Fortunately, he did what his gut told him to, because the next day, the original building got bombed to smithereens. PLUS, he lived to a ripe old age of 100+!

Then of course, the catch was that she also linked these stories to her Christian faith. Though I'm no church-going and bible-quoting devotee, I'm genuinely glad that God had showed her & her loved ones His grace and blessings in her time of need. Not everyone is so lucky- not all good people are rewarded with a happy ending and not all bad people suffer retribution. Nevertheless, it's always nice to know that someone has experienced God's grace, is extremely thankful for it and as a result, believes in Him even more so. I just think that it's rather unusual in this day & age, with the immense suffering happening around us, whether we notice it or not. To learn about these stories give me hope, hope that everyone else will have hope too. But its surely not enough to restore my trust in organised religions. Let's say, if i want to discuss about the truth and validity of the lost Gospel of Judas, I highly suspect that everyone in church will come after my skin. You know what i mean?

So moving... It was another great night out at Walawalas with the Unexpected minus Brandon on drums plus Fandi from Great Spy Experiment. Lots of booze as usual with the beer-aholics. Music was great, the crowd was high and there was this new "Blast from the past" karaoke saturday song, which was really fun as everyone just sang along real loud-- "I was dying inside to hold you, I couldnt believe what I felt for you, dying inside, I was dying inside, but I couldnt bring myself to touch you..." Haha. You get the gist.

Post Walas, was supper at the coffeeshop at the road junction. I swear having CURRY FISH HEAD AT 1.50pm is damn shiok. Haha. And the boys were talking about pornography marketing. Wow. Talk about niche marketing. Hmm, on hindsight, I dont think it is a niche. Its just the swept-under-the-carpet or talk-about-it-excitedly-in-hushed-tones kind of underground market. It's prolly worth gazillions dollars, sex S-E-L-L-S. This reminds me of the Sgpanties online business which my friend told me about. Wanna buy some? It's "filled with plenty of my(Pam's) pussy's goodness!" HAHAHAHA. I'm really amused and utterly horrified, not by the moral issues (if any), but more so by the weird fetish & uhhh... HYGIENE! Urgh, okay, whatever turns you on man/woman. Hahaha. Sorry, I cant help it. Maybe she can be the spokeswoman for feminine hygiene washes too. I can just imagine her saying, "Thanks to XXX brand's of hygiene wash, my pussy smells so damn good!!! Proven by all the men who are addicted to my used panties! Come try it for yourself!"
