The Lions Scored & Kallang Roared

Thanks to Aziz.
Here's my ticket to the match!
I have 1 complaint though.
They confiscated my precious plastic water bottle,
when I really needed water for my throat.
Stupid standard procedures.
If I had a plastic bottle,
I won't waste it by flinging it at the M'sian section,
Cause I'd have thrown it at YOU.

For the first time in my life,
The Kallang National Stadium field looks this gorgeous!
The crowd was unusually patriotic.
They sang the national anthem with so much vigour than on National Day itself.
FYI, We braved the wind & the rain through the first half of the match.
0-0 at Half-time.
You arm-chair viewers dont know what you're missing.

Check out the 55 000 strong crowd last night.
See the Kallang wave!
(Theres a slight difference in the colour gradient. That's the wave, coming towards me.)
It was hard to insulate yourself from the electrifying atmosphere.
These fans were super HIGH.
M'sia scored first. (That was a stupid mistake.)
Thank god for the equalising goal.
After which, I think some people got into a fight at the M'sia/S'pore fans boundary.
Then, the crowd started cheering gleefully, "fight, fight, fight!" (Including Huiting, haha.)
That's when the policemen came in.
There were a couple of oscar-worthy performances on the pitch as well. Tsk tsk.
Unfortunately, the (kayu) referee was reluctant to give any more cards/fouls at the end of the match,
so the game dragged on through extra time and all.
Finally, it came to the penalties.
People say you get your money worth.
I say I'll get cardiac arrest.

The crowd celebrating S'pore's win after an intense penalty shootout.
So it was a rollercoaster ride, at the very least.
People threw numerous paper planes (made from the nike posters),
instead of water bottles.
Aziz can't throw paper planes for nuts (sigh).

So, in a nutshell, it was a great night. I had 2 posts for 1 saturday! I havnt had such an eventful day in ages. Well, Aziz was our MVP for the night. He sponsored our tickets, provided snacks, water, ponchos, newspapers & great company. Huiting & I had to give him an A grade for that. He even obliged us to to take stupid, un-macho pictures of him. I think the real AZ got kidnapped by aliens & sent a lousy imposter in his place. He was so overwhelmingly nice, we got scared. Well, the crowd going home was intimidating. We had supper to wait for the crowd to dissipate. We had the mandatory prata for supper, which probably took a 30mins wait. AZ subsequently earned his A+ grade when he queued for us & got us cutlery! See. That's why we were suspicious. Hur hur. Nevertheless, I'm grateful for his efforts to be our A+ guy. Huiting was fabulous company too, aka my partner in crime. :) Beware of our 'Rating scale'.

See you guys at the FINALS!
