Maybe it's better this way

I've just heard about the end of S & C. Although S is sad, she's more relieved than anything else (in her own words). I'm surprised because they had a lovely time together in Paris & there was no doubt that they really loved each other, but distance and time apart can change everything. Still, I'm actually glad that she's taking it well and that there's a proper closure since it was beautiful while it lasted. Yet somehow the notion that sometimes/many times/most times such relationships are inevitably doomed from the beginning is seeping into me, and oh the horrors!! I might not be spared too. I truly want to make it work but am I already asking for too much?
