Take a seat at the dining table.

It was breakfast at
OOMPHATICOS at Tanglin Mall on a balmy Vesak day morning.

It was a spacious dining area with quirky and colourful furniture. I dont mind having a living or dining room which looks like this. Art-deco inspired. Anyway, us early birds were the FIRST diners of the day. I chose this hidden gem of a place to the over-hyped dempsey road places, because they have AIRCON! This weather has been way too warm for any type of outdoor activity like walking uphill.

I had a chilled brewed tamarind drink which tasted like sour plum, which I liked, but was too sour for mr insurance agent. He had something which tasted like apple juice + 1 grape + 10 passionfruit bits i think. Haha. That cost about 9bucks i think.

Check out my uber-gorgeous 'iced waffle'. Perfect for a sunny and warm morning breakfast. These waffles are fluffy & fragant. So i started to wax lyrical about all my fanstasies about owning a waffle-making machine & all the savoury & sweet stuff that i can make with homemade waffles! Wow and mr insurance agent has an abandoned one at home. Great. I'll pass my untouched sandwich-maker to Charlotte too. We are all domestic goddesses wannabes. (Ok fine, she beats me hands down. Psst - but the both of us dont know how to use the microwave.)

The yoghurt was super thick, just like the one used to make lassi drinks. It was garnished with plump blueberries & shredded mint leaves. On top of the yoghurt, they scattered brown sugar and icing sugar. Ahh.

The morning pizza which looks more like a salad than a pizza. The pizza base is as thin & brittle as a biscuit. But the combination of arugula leaves, feta cheese, cherry tomatoes, avocados and olive oil was a quite a palate- pleaser.

It looked so damn fresh and wholesome,
as if Jamie Oliver had just picked them out of his garden plot.
