Its almost Week 14 now. Exams are looming, yet again. I had a lovely FTB gathering on friday night at clarke quay. I'm too lazy to blog about the events. Refer to FACEBOOK for the relevant pictures at the moment. I might try to will myself into putting up a belated entry. I've missed out Charlotte's Birthday Blog entry too. Haha. Suddenly, this is like a Birthday Dedication website. Well, at least birthdays, like weddings & funerals, are one of the best excuses for mass meet-ups to make small talk & catch up. One good thing that comes out of having to blow out those candles!
December looks like a pretty rosy sight. Theres the mandatory post-exams party, Lawry's with Char, possibly Zoukout, Batam Cable Ski day, Family trip to Taiwan, an Xmas party in the pipeline. Plus lots of other miscellanous events like Soc Sci retreat? Hockey Chalet? Random 11pm supper calls from Dixi & co? Visiting far-flung places in the ulu corners of Singapore, in search of the best bargains, best food & best unusual experiences.
Friends become slightly more free to hang out, time becomes more fluid, but cash flow trickles. Haha. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to taking random spins in friends' cars. As well as having spontaneous trips like picnicking in Botanic Gardens, exploring Chek Jawa/HSBC Treetop walk etc etc.
I'm so sure December will fly past without anyone noticing. Someone, please remind me to wish for supernatural time-controlling powers on my next birthday. At least, I have a Bangkok trip right on 1st January to chase away the awful Pre-School Blues. While everyone is getting wasted or hung over at their crazy NYE parties, I'll be at the airport at 5am on 1Jan2008. How cool is that?
On yeah, on the topic of having a peter pan fanstasy, I'd like to remark that this year Xmas light decorations are gorgeous. I'm intrigued by the fantasy fairytale theme too. Hmmm, STB might be tryin to help us escape reality. Haha. Its such a irony with a festive air on the streets and everyone in SMU is mugging feverishly in school. FYI, it's a lovely sight from the rooms. I guess our GST hikes went into the extra effort to spruce up our dear old Orchard Road. Maybe they should ask us for a Orchard Rd Wish-list instead. For one, please gimme a traffic-congestion-free road! ERPs merely encourage road rage among drivers. Hah!
Pardon the onslaught of ramblings. I'm in the foggy I-want-to-talk-about-stuff-but-i'm-not-sure-what-my-focus-is mood.
I guess that will sum up how I am feeling right now. Excited about post-exams, and dreading the exams at the same time. Distracted by Facebook & dying to concentrate on work. Wanting & not wanting. Its a pretty ugly state of mind.
Ps. Im in awe of the dude who invented oxymorons & paradoxes. He/She is indeed a genius. I wouldnt have came up with a proper term for it myself.
